VARIETY, February 10, 1982

VARIETY   Feb. 1982

Theo Bikel retired as President.

The current thinking was that the

AEA President must be a star, so

Ellen Burstyn was nominated

elected. I was reelected to my

3rd (of 4) term(s) as 1st V.P.

I enjoyed a warm relationship w/

Ellen built on mutual respect.

But (in 1985) she chose not to

run for a 2nd term.
